Bed time sloka. Recite this sloka every night before sleeping. Forgivness prayer (directed to Shivjee to be lenient with any mistakes we might have made during our prayers to Him).
~Verse 16, Shiva Aparadha Kshama Stotra by Adi Śaṅkara Bhagavatpāda
Meaning: Whatever sins (faults) committed, by hand or foot, in word or deed, with ears or eyes, in mind or body, knowingly or unknowingly, may I be forgiven for all them, by the ever victorious Śrī Mahādeva (Śiva) who is Sambhu (self manifested)
O God, kindly pardon my incorrect actions done consciously or unconsciously, either through my organs of action (hand, feet, and speech) or through my organs of perception (eyes, ears) or by my mind. I adore the God, who is the ocean of kindness. Whether prescribed (by the scriptures) or not, please forgive me for all of them.
By God’s grace, we have completed one more day of our life. So, in order to thank god and to ask for his mercy, one can recite this Sloka. This bedtime Sloka is a prayer to God asking him to excuse our mistakes and maintain his mercy on us.
The Karacharana Kritam Vaa Chant is a great way to end the day with forgiveness. One asks the Lord for forgiveness for wrong acts that one may have knowingly or unknowingly committed during the day.
